Rules for visa-free entry
Being on the visa-free list means you don't need to apply for a visa in advance. It doesn't mean entry is automatic or unlimited.

- Maximum stay per calendar year: 180 cumulative days (January 1 to December 31 — not rolling 12 months)
- Passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned entry date

Exceeding your authorized stay is a migration violation. You can be fined, and repeat violations can lead to entry bans. The violation also goes on your migration record, which can affect future visa applications in Colombia.
Can I leave Colombia and come back to reset my days?
No. Colombia counts cumulative days spent in the country during the calendar year. Leaving and returning does not reset the count. Your total days across all entries count toward the 180-day maximum per calendar year.
What documents should I bring to Colombian immigration?
Bring your passport (valid at least 6 months beyond your entry date). Immigration may also ask for proof of onward or return travel, your accommodation address or hotel booking, and proof of sufficient funds for your stay. Have these ready.
